Samsung might have disappeared by the July expedition date for the Galaxy Fold delayed, according to a company manager talking to The Korea Herald, apparently deny early June rumors that the company was planning an outing in July.
"If we hold such an event mid-term this month, we should already do something," said a Samsung official. "Nothing has progressed since the April deadline."
If it were true, it would be the closest release date for the Fold in August, when Samsung could delay the announcement to allow the Fold to run parallel to the next Galaxy Note 10 (Assuming the company does not fear that the two giant screen phones could nibalize their respective sales.)
The Galaxy Fold was originally due out on April 26, but Samsung has delayed the camera indefinitely after several revision units (including that of The edgeDieter Bohnexperienced problems. Since then, AT & T, Best buyand even Samsung have canceled pre-orders for the foldable phone.
In May, the co-CEO, DJ Koh, had promised "that it will not be too late," in terms of launch schedule, and representatives of Samsung announced a new release date of the phone "in the next weeks".
Samsung is not the only phone company to deal with foldable phone issues: Huawei announced today delay the launch its own foldable Mate X from June to September to allow more tests.
