Reported for the first time by the Android Police website and confirmed later by Netflix at Mashable, the option allows you to dive into a random episode of popular broadcasts on the streaming service, as if you wanted to play shuffle on Office or Arrested development.
According to the site, the above option to get a random episode appeared on the application of an Android user, "specifically v7.6.0 build 19 34157."
The option makes a lot of sense if you want to participate in a show you've seen many times, like Office or The friends, and frenetically blindly for a few hours. This probably makes a little less sense, however, for continuity-based series like Twin Peaks or Bodyguard.
A Netflix spokesman told Mashable: "We are testing the possibility for members to play a random episode of different TV series on the Android mobile application." These tests usually vary in duration and region, and may not become permanent. "
No additional information, including if the random option would only apply to certain shows, was available. So, if you have an Android device, see if you have it and give it a swirl and see how you enjoy this Netflix Shuffle.
