Fortunately, since the latest versions of Windows 10, the Microsoft operating system offers us a simple way to see what we have copied to the clipboard. In addition, Windows 10 includes a feature that allows us to see the history of the clipboard, which guarantees us to know with certainty the element or the text that we copied to paste it correctly.
How to access the contents of portapaples in Windows 10
As we just said, the Microsoft operating system allows us to see the content copied to the clipboard quickly and easily. Of course, you have to know that it has certain restrictions, to be able to access the contents of portapaples in plain text, HTML or images of size smaller than a certain size.
To do this, simply press the keyboard shortcut Windows + V, although the first time we try to access the Windows clipboard, a message will appear indicating that the history can not be displayed because by default, it is disabled.
To enable it, open the Windows 10 configuration page and navigate to the option System> Portapaples. There we will find the option History of the clipboard, which is the function that records the history of items copied to the clipboard and allows us to access them for later use. Therefore, we must slide the switch of this option to the On position.
Right there, we will also find the option to delete the clipboard history, in case we want to delete everything we copied during the last use and that we have the option to paste.
Steps to access the clipboard under macOS
Although Apple's operating system does not offer any function similar to Windows, the truth is that there is a simple trick that allows us to access the clipboard in macOS. For that, we will have to use the macOS Finder tool.
Therefore, the first thing to do is to open the Finder, and then we go to the Edit menu option to select the Show Clipboard option. Automatically, a window will open in which we will see what we have copied to the clipboard. If it's text, we'll see the full text when accessing the clipboard, while it's about an image, from A document or any other file, what we will see will be the name of the file.
Of course, from this option, we will be able to access the contents of the clipboard, but we will not be able to modify or copy it. If we want to have access to other more advanced options of the clipboard in macOS, we will have to use a third-party application like Pastebot, for example.
