HBO again asks President Donald Trump not to use Game of thrones even on Twitter as a way to send political messages.
Trump tweeted to remember the publication of the report of the special advocate Robert Mueller on his investigation into the Trump campaign and Russia in the 2016 election. The main font shown in the image below comes directly from the most popular series of HBO. This is not the first time that Trump uses a Game of thrones Even to address a controversy in which he is involved, but HBO issued a statement asking the president to stop.
"Although we can understand the enthusiasm for Game of thrones now that the last season has arrived, we still prefer our unused intellectual property for political purposes, " The HBO spokesman said Bloomberg.
Trump's Twitter account is often riddled with the same – many whose surface on subreddits like r / The_Donald before going to his thread – but HBO has already asked Trump not to use the intellectual property of his show to promote a political agenda. In November Trump tweeted another Game of thrones even, using the infamous font of the show to tweet, "The sanctions are coming." The slogan was based on Stark's slogan "Winter is Coming", which is frequently referenced in the series. The same was meant to refer to Trump reimposing sanctions on Iran.
HBO responded to the time with his own tweet: "How do you say brand abuse in Dothraki?"
In this case and this one, the use of Trump by Game of thrones in memes is a way to capture a popular moment and an instantly recognizable and respected brand. But it's also a way of declaring power and acting aggressively against people. Game of thrones is, basically, a story about the elimination of political opponents in order to take the iron throne and conquer a kingdom. The underline message is that Trump comes first – End of Game.
As The edgeAdi Robertson previously wrote: "Trump is the presidential version of 4 locals who adopt Bane and the Joker as patron saints: some men want to watch the world burn, others to salivate at the prospect hit the protesters. "
