After all the headlines and the noble language about autonomous vehicles, it's nice to see one of these working constantly. Vera, Volvo Trucks' first autonomous electric vehicle, began transporting goods at a logistics center in Gothenburg, Sweden. The slow and repetitive task seems perfect for robotic driving technology, which is still very much in development.
Stat of the week
500 million dollars
The expected cost for Uber if its drivers are classified as employees and not as independent contractors in California, according to a Barclays analysis. A law recently passed by the California Assembly – which is now in the hands of the state Senate – would do just that. The change could cost Lyft another $ 290 million, according to the analysis.
